The old PC
An old PC in a web page: a startup sound, the hum of its fans, a sound for every key and mouse click, and a warning sound when the mouse or touchpad moves. It starts switched off.
The PC is switched off. Press the button, or any letter key, to switch it on.
Settings
Up and Down: choose. Left and Right: change. Enter: keep. Escape: undo. F1: help.
Keys
Hold A and B together with:
- Space switch off (the speech card loses power at once; the numbers appear in a box)
- T status: how long it has run, keys pressed, clicks, keys per second
- S settings (everything is spoken; keyboard only)
- M back to the main menu from a program
- C hum on or off D quieter U louder
- F full screen (lets the page keep keys such as Escape)
The startup sound can be skipped with Space. The page only hears keys and the mouse while it has the focus, and it keeps nothing but two counts and your settings, on this device.
